Keep the entire family entertained while camping with these simple yet fun activities!

Frisbee Golf

What you need

  • Frisbees
  • Laundry Baskets

With just a few frisbees and some laundry baskets, you can build your very own frisbee golf course for your family to play.

The goal is to throw your frisbee and get it to land inside of the basket in as few throws as possible. Keep score and play competitivity, or run through the course for fun and enjoy!

Air Pong

What you need

  • Ping pong ball
  • A level picnic table

Competitors face off across the length of a picnic table.

Starting with a ping pong ball in the center of the table, competitors blow the ball away from them, across the table towards their opponent.

First player to get the ball successfully to the edge of their opponents side wins!

Pool Noodles

Pool noodles, but no pool needed.

These foam noodles can be bent and pushed into whatever shape you would like! Using wooden dowels from your local dollar store you can prop up pool noodles, and use tape and a noodle bent into an “O” shape to create rings that you can toss balls through, or create an agility course by leaving them lying down.

You can use laundry bins and a beach ball to play pool noodle “hockey” using your noodles as hockey sticks, beach ball as a puck, and laundry baskets as goals. Using this same set up you can play “Chopsticks” by using two pool noodles to transport as many beach balls to your laundry bin as you can.

Water Balloons

Water balloons are a great way to cool down on a hot day, and have a lot of fun!

You can play Capture the Flag with water balloons, use laundry baskets to play Laundry Basket Catch, or just have a good old fashioned throw-down battle.

Outdoor Twister

What you need

  • Red, blue, yellow and green spray paint
  • Circle stencil
  • Twister spinner

Try a new spin on twister by moving it outdoors with just some spray paint!

If you have a large group of people, make it bigger for added fun!

Squirt Gun Races

What you need

  • Plastic cups
  • String
  • Squirt Guns

By tying a string between two points and stringing up a plastic cup, you can use a squirt gun to push the cup down the line. Set up two equal lines and your kids can race against each other!

Glow In The Dark

What you need

  • Water bottles (the bigger the better)
  • Glow sticks (At least one for every bottle)
  • Ball

One quick dollar store run and you can entertain the family for the entire night!

Fill each water bottle with water, crack glowsticks and drop glowstick inside bottle. Arrange bottles in any formation and bowl!

Glow In The Dark

What you need

  • Wooden dowels
  • Glow sticks
  • Rubber bands

Using the rubber bands, crack and attach glow sticks to the wooden dowels and push them into the ground in a row. Make rings using remaining glowsticks and play.

For an added challenge, give the dowels different colored glow sticks, and aim to pair matching rings to dowels.

All of these games require minimal supplies and effort, and create fun lasting competition for an entire evening. We hope you are able to try some of these games next time you and your family are out camping!
