Sugar Cookie Recipe
2 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 egg yolks
4 1/2 cups flour
Royal Icing Recipe
3 tablespoons Wilton Meringue Powder
4 Cups confectioners sugar
6 tablespoons warm water
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add vanilla and egg yolks (be sure not to over mix) Mix in flour. Seoarate the dough into two balls. Put between two sheets of parchmnet paper and roll out to 1/4″ thick. Refridgerate till the dough becomes hard (around 30 mins) remove and cut out shapes. When dough is softened again repeat until all the dough has been used.
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Once heated bake cookies for 10-12 mins or until the edges start to brown.
While cookies cool prepare icing.
Beat all ingridents for icing together until peaks form. (7-12 mintues depending on mixer)
Seperate icing into different bowls and add desired food colouring.
Decorate your ghoulish cookies!
** You might neet to add more water to get the consistency you want. The trick is you run a knife throught the icing and count 10 seconds, if the forsting has flattened out bu then is it perfect! If it is to thing then it mihgt runn off the cookies and too thick it will keep the shape for longer and not spread out.
